KICKER FUNDRAISER
Story
The Manhattan Kickers Football Club was founded in 1973 by graduates of Middlebury College in Vermont. The early games were played on grass in Central Park and later moved to Randall’s Island where most of the games are played today on new turf. The Kickers play in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League, one of the oldest Amateur Soccer Leagues in the Country. Founded in 1923 as the German-American League, the Cosmopolitan Soccer League is the most competitive league in the Tri-State area.
The men’s teams compete in the CSL against some of the most storied clubs in the country. The Kickers are a mirror image of New York metropolitan area fielding players from all over the world—Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Afghanistan, Chile, Colombia, England, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Israel, Palestine, Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, South Africa, Australia, and Sweden are just a few.
The Manhattan Kickers are always looking to maintain a competitive edge in the top flight of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League; seeking college and professional players, management and sponsorship to help the organization grow and prosper.
